My Story
My name is Frank Kaminsky and I'm the owner of Livin' Good Home Renovation in Columbus, Ohio. I've been renovating and repairing homes for over 25 years. I started my business 19-plus years ago and have worked as a licensed residential contractor in Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Ohio. I make a point to stay up to date with the latest building materials and procedures used in the trades, because I believe quality renovations come from a few things working together: the knowledge you gain over years of hands-on experience, keeping current with new innovations, and talking shop with other pros across all the trades. But the biggest asset I can offer is a simple one - I love what I do, and I always have.
A Little More About Me
In previous lives I was a design engineer in the automotive industry, sold home-grown organic vegetables at the local farmers market, and worked as a supervisor for a trucking company, all after graduating from Central Michigan University with a B.S. in Business Administration.
I still maintain 40 acres up in Northern Michigan along with a late-1800s farmhouse that's been an ongoing personal renovation of mine for the last 25 years. More than a couple people told me to bulldoze it when I bought the place, but it had a heart and soul (and a good foundation), and a lot of years left in it with a little help from a fool like me. It's where my family spends some of our best times, and it's every bit as great in the winter as it is in spring, summer, and fall.
My wife and I moved to Clintonville after living in Cary, North Carolina; Norman, Oklahoma; and before that our original home in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We came here to be near The Ohio State University, where my wife is a professor. Ohio is a beautiful state and we love our life here, though we still get back up to Northern Michigan whenever we can to visit family and friends and get in as much fishing as possible.
How I Work
I'm an experienced residential contractor in the State of Ohio, fully insured, and happy to provide references upon request. I'll typically come out to your home free of charge to meet, talk through your project, and work with you to come up with a solution or design that best fits your needs. From there I'll send you a written, itemized estimate by email. If you already have a designer, great, and if you'd like me to refer one I can team up with, I'd be glad to do that. I've also built up a good list of suppliers and sub-contractors here in the Columbus area that I've found to be trustworthy and cost effective.
I do all the work myself, with some outside help from time to time and professional sub-contractors as needed, and I'll stay at your home until the project is finished. I've purposely kept things small and stayed close to Clintonville rather than hiring a big crew, so I can keep a close eye on the quality of the work and keep a good, direct line of communication with you.
